Tongji University (2005, Documentaries and Truth)

[Course description] A year-long course in Shanghai's premier university, exploring the subject of "truth" in the context of documentaries.

[Student Activities] Students learned basic video filming and editing before exploring the subject of objectivity in the field of documentaries. In group work, they developed several video projects that brought to light the bias introduced by subconscious, cultural or political motivations.
The course not only focused on the technical aspects of producing these fake documentaries but fostered students to critically asses the information that is fed to us on a daily basis.

[Course Results] At the end of the course, the students organized an exhibition featuring a broad variety of perspectives and editing styles.
