China Academy of Art (2003, Multimedia Art Workshop)
[Course description] This full month workshop was the first course during my six years teaching at the prestigious China Academy of Art, situated next to the picturesque West Lake in Hangzhou. After consulting for the newly created department of New Media Art, I agreed to teach a general workshop to help establish the school's curriculum.
[Student Activities] After a series of introductory lessons on contemporary art history, and basic skill training in the use of multimedia tools, the students

would each develop a personal art project using any form or technique. They learned how to develop a project from ideation, critique to planning and production.
[Course Results] This workshop culminated in an exhibition of the students' works in an alternative art space in Hangzhou, which kick-started the careers of four of today's well-known artists.
