China Academy of Art (2004, Subversive Education Workshop)

[Course description] This workshop was the second course during my six years teaching at the prestigious China Academy of Art, focusing on unlearning the traditional habits of classic Chinese education.

[Student Activities] The students' were encouraged to challenge traditional education paradigms and methods to judge the quality of artworks. In teamwork, students developed two subversive showcases; ridiculing the
questionable practice of the academy's entrance exams and rules for grading students' artworks.These activities were recorded and edited into a mockumentary about an educational innovation panel that promotes to evaluate students by the length of their tongue and ability to spit gum.

[Course Results] The film was presented to students, faculty and the school administration.
